Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd), a famous but sleepless musician, spends his nights in the studio and clubs in Los Angeles, haunted by mysterious voice messages from an unknown girl (Riley Q). One restless night, he meets Anima (Jenna Ortega), an enigmatic woman who seems to know him deeply. Anima invites him on an unusual journey that takes him from the dark streets of the city to surreal places such as a club with a strange manager (Michael Bohan) and an abandoned house. Along the way, they are joined by Lee (Barry Keoghan), a mysterious man with unclear intentions. Abel is confronted with memories of his childhood (Abraham Ivan Troy Simonin) and buried fears, and begins to question his reality and identity. Is the anima his guide or part of his delusions? As he gets closer to the truth, Abel, with the help of his old friends Levi (Paul L. Davis) and Jessica (Kiara Lees), uncovers the mystery of the voice messages and their connection to his past. The story reaches a climax with psychological twists, where Abel must choose between accepting the truth or drowning in his nightmares.
